Pastor Tony grew up in a pastor’s home where he was taught about Christ from birth. Around the age of 8, Jesus saved him and his dad baptized him. In his early teen years, God made it clear that Tony was going to be in ministry; however, during his early adult years, Tony rebelled against his parents and God. Through miraculous means, God welcomed the prodigal, Tony, back home and renewed the calling into ministry. He began serving as a youth mentor and adult Bible study leader.
During those years of rebellion, Tony met and married his bride, Marci. They have 3 children and 5 grandsons. You might hear Tony say, “If I had known how much fun it was to be a granddad, I would have done it first!”
Tony was in the United States Air Force for 12 years working in Communications and Computer Systems at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, and Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. During his time in the Air Force, Tony earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Systems Management from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration of Technical Services from Bellevue University. After the Air Force, Tony went to work for Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha, Nebraska. It was at this point that Tony knew God wanted him to go into ministry. He began the Master of Divinity program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri in the spring of 2000 while also serving as a youth Bible study leader at his home church and filling pulpits for churches in the Kansas City area. In the Fall of 2002, Tony served as the interim pastor for a small church in Centerville, Iowa.
After graduating from Midwestern, Tony became the pastor at Bethany Baptist Church in Tilleda, Wisconsin in July of 2003. After 7 years of ministry at Bethany, God called Tony to be the pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church, Racine, Wisconsin until he came to Heartland in March of 2018.
Tony longs to make disciple-making disciples of Jesus Christ. He would love to help you on your discipleship journey at Heartland!
